Visit this grand and beautiful 17th-century mansion, whose rooms and walls reverberate with fascinating stories about the Morgan family, later Lords Tredegar. Among owners of Tredegar House was Captain Henry Morgan, a Welsh buccaneer who preyed on the Spanish fleet and colonies. He was feted by King Charles II and then went on to become Governor in Jamaica. A well-known rum is named after him

STOP PRESS: Weather gorgeous, after Friday night's thunderstorms... highlights were Northumbrian pipes trio Piper's Wyrd, the Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation (lovely Greeks!), One String Loose (hooray!), Nancy & James, a Danish-Welsh open-air session... Cwmbran Blackberry stout quickly running out in the CAMRA bar... attendance up on Saturday... everybody smiling... keep on trucking!

Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, Mick Ryan and Pete Harris and Albino Frogs are in our line-up for the Morgan Room concerts in 2008. One String Loose play at the festival, and members of Mabon will perform an hour-long concert on Sunday night - followed by Grainne Joughin calling a Celtic Ceilidh with the band.
